SHOCKING: Pastor, Two Others Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Bury 5-Month-Old Baby Alive

A shocking and disturbing incident has rocked Ahyiresu and Abofrem in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, after a pastor, his uncle, and a woman were arrested for allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive.
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at about 11:00 p.m., and was reportedly foiled following a tip-off and swift intervention by a concerned eyewitness.

The suspect, Apostle Doctor Richmond Akwasi Frimpong, Head Pastor of Anointed Grace Prayer Ministry at Kuffour Camp, together with his two accomplices—believed to be members of his church—were arrested by the Bibiani District Police.
According to an eyewitness, Winfred Agbah, he spotted the suspects at a refuse dump in the late hours of the night holding the baby in a suspicious manner.
He said he quickly intervened and, to his shock, discovered that the infant was still alive and was about to be buried.
The Chief Linguist of Abofrem, Nana Yaw Badu, confirmed that the pastor had earlier informed him that the baby had died, which led him to direct them to a burial site, without knowing the child was still alive.
Police at Bibiani have since taken the suspects into custody, with investigations currently underway.
The baby has been rescued and is receiving treatment at the Abofrem Clinic.

The Assembly Member for the Ahyiresu Electoral Area, Yusuf Suleiman, also confirmed the incident, stating that the suspects are in police custody and will soon be processed for court.
Meanwhile, the motive behind the alleged act remains unclear, although some residents suspect it could be linked to ritual activities or attempts to gain influence and attract more followers to the church.
