Two Killed, Vehicle Burnt In Bosomtwe Clash

Two young men have been beaten to death, while a commercial vehicle has been burnt to ashes following a violent communal clash between residents of Broadekwano and Asisiriwa in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, has heightened tension in the area, with police officers deployed to maintain law and order and prevent possible reprisal attacks.
Speaking to SWIFTNEWS3, the Assembly Member for Asisiriwa, Hon. Prince Boateng, disclosed that the violence began as a misunderstanding between two young men from the rival communities but escalated into a full-scale confrontation.
According to him, youth from Broadekwano allegedly launched attacks on Asisiriwa residents, destroying and looting properties.
He explained that the Asisiriwa youth resisted the attack, which led to the lynching of two suspected attackers during the clash.
Hon. Boateng further revealed that a commercial sprinter bus belonging to an Asisiriwa resident was set ablaze after the driver reportedly transported passengers to Broadekwano.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident and have deployed personnel to the area to restore calm.
Residents of both communities remain on edge as authorities work to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
