Public-Private Partnership Key to Development –Atwima Kwanwoma DCE

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has emphasised the importance of public-private partnerships in accelerating development, noting that such collaborations complement government efforts in providing infrastructure and creating opportunities for citizens.
She made the remarks at the commissioning of a newly constructed community market at Apaaso in the Ashanti Region.
According to her, the facility is a major boost to local economic development and an important step towards improving livelihoods within the district.
She noted that the market would bring goods and services closer to residents while providing a conducive environment for traders, especially market women and small business operators.
Madam Asamoah commended the individual behind the project for the foresight and commitment, stressing that the initiative goes beyond a business venture to significantly support community growth and small-scale enterprises.
“Markets are the heartbeat of every community. They serve as centres of trade, create employment opportunities and improve livelihoods,” she stated.
She added that when individuals take the lead in development projects, it reduces the burden on government and promotes faster progress.
The DCE urged traders and users of the facility to maintain cleanliness and ensure proper use of the market to guarantee its sustainability.
She also called on the market leadership to put in place effective management systems to ensure order, security and fairness in its operations.
Madam Asamoah expressed hope that the market would grow from strength to strength and become a model for other communities.
She subsequently declared the market officially open for business.
