3-Year-Old Boy Dies, Ten Injured in Bee Attack at Wawase

A three-year-old boy (name withheld) has died, while ten others sustained injuries following a swarm of bees attack on residents at Wawase, a suburb of Agona Swedru in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region.
Six of the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital, while the remaining four have been treated and discharged.
Speaking to journalists, the Deputy Director in charge of Technical at the Agona West Municipal NADMO, Paul K. Appleh, disclosed that the incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Friday when the bees suddenly attacked residents.
According to him, the young boy was unable to escape as the attack unfolded, while other residents managed to run for their lives.
Mr. Appleh indicated that personnel from NADMO and the Ghana National Fire Service were quickly dispatched to the scene to bring the situation under control.
He added that the three-year-old boy later died at the hospital while receiving treatment.
Mr. Appleh further noted that officials have since sprayed the area to prevent any future attacks, assuring that all injured victims are responding positively to treatment.
