St. Sark Warns Gov’t Not to Downgrade Suame Interchange Project

The General Overseer of Open Arms Ministry, St. Sark, has issued a strong warning to the NDC government over what he describes as attempts to downgrade the Suame Interchange project from four lanes to two.
According to the outspoken cleric, the project was designed as a four-lane interchange and must be executed as such to meet the growing traffic demands in the Ashanti Region.
He called on the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, to shelve any plan to alter the original scope of the project, stressing that funding challenges should not be used as justification.
“Government must not hide behind lack of funds. There are many ways to mobilise resources to complete this important project in its original form,” he stated.
St. Sark warned that any attempt to reduce the interchange to two lanes would generate strong public backlash, insisting that residents of the region would not accept a scaled-down version of the project.
“If the four lanes are reduced to two, citizens will rise and demand accountability from those in authority,” he cautioned.
The Suame Interchange project is widely regarded as a critical infrastructure development aimed at easing traffic congestion and boosting economic activity in Kumasi and surrounding communities.
His remarks add to the growing public debate over infrastructure development and resource allocation, with many stakeholders calling for transparency and strict adherence to the original project design in the interest of the people.
