Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Receives International Humanitarian Award

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has been honoured with a prestigious international humanitarian award for her outstanding contribution to society.

The award was presented by the International Ministerial Council of Churches and Bible Colleges (IAMCCBC), headquartered in Houston, USA, in recognition of her dedication to humanitarian service and social development.

IAMCCBC, a global Christian organisation with over 150 campuses and more than 11,000 members across 60 countries, identified Hon. Agyemang Asamoah as a distinguished personality committed to supporting humanity and promoting inclusive development.

The African Coordinator and President of the Ghana Chapter of IAMCCBC, Rev. Emmanuel Boachie, who presented the award on behalf of the Global President, Rev. Mark Randall Brown, described the Council as a non-partisan body that honours individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to humanitarian causes.

According to Rev. Boachie, four nominees from Ghana were initially considered, with two shortlisted. Hon. Agyemang Asamoah emerged as the final recipient due to her remarkable track record of service in both public office and private life.

He disclosed that the award will be implemented in two phases — the first recognising her current role as DCE, while the second phase will take place at a later date under a different capacity. He also urged public officials to emulate her example by prioritising the needs of the vulnerable and underserved in society.

In her acceptance speech, Hon. Agyemang Asamoah expressed gratitude and humility, stating that the recognition was not a personal achievement but a reflection of collective effort and shared vision.

“This recognition affirms that meaningful work done with integrity and passion transcends borders,” she noted.

She dedicated the award to the people of Atwima Kwanwoma, thanking them for their trust and support, and commended her team and partners for their dedication and collaboration in advancing development in the district.

Describing the award as a motivation rather than a destination, the DCE reaffirmed her commitment to championing inclusive development, particularly for women, the youth and underserved communities.

She pledged to continue serving with excellence, empathy and accountability to ensure sustained progress in the district.
