Hearts of Oak Tighten Grip on Title Race with Dominant Win Over Eleven Wonders

Accra Hearts of Oak sent a strong statement to their title rivals on Saturday afternoon after cruising to a comprehensive 3–0 victory over struggling Eleven Wonders at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.
The emphatic triumph underlined Hearts’ growing momentum in the league and propelled the Phobians to second place on the table, pending the conclusion of Sunday’s fixtures. In contrast, Eleven Wonders’ woes deepened as they remain anchored at the bottom, with relegation to the Division One League looming ever closer.
Hearts set the tone early when Mawuli Wayo broke the deadlock in the eighth minute, showcasing fine footwork to beat several defenders before slotting home with composure. The early goal settled the Phobians, who controlled large spells of the contest.
After the break, sustained pressure paid off in the 62nd minute when Martin Karikari reacted fastest inside the box to poke the ball home and double the lead. Eleven Wonders’ resistance finally crumbled late in the game as Kelvin Asibey calmly converted from the penalty spot to put the result beyond doubt.
With confidence high, Hearts of Oak will shift focus to their next league assignment against Bechem United, aiming to maintain their push for the title. Eleven Wonders, meanwhile, face a crucial test in their upcoming fixture against Young Apostles as they battle to escape the drop.
