FMB Farms MD Urges Heavy Investment in Ginger Farming to Drive Growth in Atwima Kwanwoma

The Managing Director of FMB Farms, Mr. Michael Amponsah Frimpong, has called on government to invest massively in agriculture in the Atwima Kwanwoma District, with a strong focus on ginger production.
According to Mr. Frimpong, the district possesses enormous agricultural potential which, if properly harnessed, can make a significant contribution to Ghana’s economic growth without excessive dependence on foreign support. He stressed that ginger cultivation alone could become a major economic driver for the area, creating jobs and improving the livelihoods of residents.
He explained that agriculture has a broad value chain, from production to processing and marketing, and when fully developed, it could serve as the engine of growth for both Atwima Kwanwoma and the nation at large. He therefore urged government and other stakeholders to prioritize investments across the agricultural value chain to unlock its full benefits.
Mr. Frimpong also appealed to the District Assembly and residents to adopt a culture of tree planting to help beautify the environment and make communities safer and more conducive for living.
Touching on local development, the agribusiness entrepreneur encouraged the District Chief Executive, Grace Agyemang Asamoah, to deepen collaboration with businesses operating within the district and tap into their expertise and resources to accelerate development.
He assured the DCE of his personal commitment to the progress of the district and pledged to mobilize fellow business executives to support key development initiatives.
Additionally, Mr. Frimpong called on government to urgently address the poor road network in the district, noting that good roads are essential for attracting investors and boosting economic activities.
He made these remarks when the District Chief Executive paid an official visit to FMB Farms at Adum-Nwamase as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the Atwima Kwanwoma District.
