Taxi Driver Rams Robbers to Save MoMo Vendor at Darkuman
A brave taxi driver has earned nationwide admiration after foiling an armed robbery at Darkuman by courageously ramming his vehicle into two suspected robbers who had just attacked a mobile money (MoMo) vendor and made away with GH¢7,700.
Eyewitnesses say the suspects had threatened the vendor and fled the scene when the taxi driver, acting swiftly, drove his vehicle into them, disrupting their escape. One of the suspects managed to flee, but the other was apprehended and handed over to the police.
The heroic intervention, however, came at a cost. The taxi sustained significant damage, with images circulating online showing its front bumper badly smashed. The vehicle is the driver’s only means of livelihood.
Moved by his selfless act, many Ghanaians on social media have praised the driver and are calling for public support to help repair his damaged taxi. Some have urged philanthropists, transport unions, and security agencies to come to his aid.
