Kennedy Agyapong Calls for Unity and Peace at Ken’s National Praise 2026

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, one of the contestants in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership race slated for January 31, has called on Ghanaians to remain united and prayerful as the nation enters a new year and prepares for a crucial election season.
Speaking at the Ken’s National Praise 2026 held in Accra on Thursday night, Hon. Ohene stressed that the event was a thanksgiving service and not a political activity.
“We are gathered here tonight for one simple reason: to thank God. This is not about ambition or competition, but about acknowledging God’s hand over our lives and over our nation,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to the organisers of the programme, notably Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah, Rev. Acheampong, and Charles Bissue, praising their dedication and sacrifice in bringing people together for worship and thanksgiving.
Reflecting on the past year, Hon. Ohene described it as a difficult period for many Ghanaians, marked by economic hardship, personal struggles, and the loss of loved ones. Despite these challenges, he noted that the presence of participants at the event was a clear sign of God’s mercy.
“Many people started the journey with us but did not make it this far. God has preserved our lives, and for that, we say thank you,” he stated.
Touching on the theme of the event, “United in Praise,” Hon. Ohene said thanksgiving brings people together, lifts their focus beyond present difficulties, and ushers in the presence of God.
“As a people, and as a party, we are entering an important election season. Our prayer is simple: peace before the elections, peace during the elections, and peace after the elections. No violence, no bitterness, no division,” he urged.
He emphasised that leadership is divinely ordained and must be pursued in an atmosphere of peace, adding that unity should prevail regardless of the outcome of the NPP’s January 31 presidential primaries.
“Elections will pass, but unity must remain. When we stay united, we move forward together as one people,” he added.
Hon. Ohene concluded by encouraging participants to praise God wholeheartedly, quoting Psalm 150:6: “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.” He prayed for God’s peace and guidance upon Ghana and its people, and asked for blessings upon the gathering and the nation.
