MCE Cuts Sod for Construction of Multiple Development Projects in Atwima Kwanwoma

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has cut the sod for the construction of 18 development projects in schools and government institutions across the municipality.

The projects comprise six and three-unit classroom blocks  at Afasiebon and Adjuampong respectively and sixteen mechanised boreholes aimed at improving access to quality education and potable water in beneficiary communities.

The communities to benefit from the projects include Afasiebon, Ampapatia, Darko, Nkoranza, Asaago, Aboabokese, Trede and Dentekrom. Others are Apemanim, Nweneso III, Foase, Ahenema Kokoben, Akosomo, , Behenase,and Adumasa.

TVET , Immigration  and Education offices also benefitted from the projects.

Speaking at one of the project sites, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah reiterated President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of ensuring development reaches every community to improve the living standards of the people. She noted that the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality would also benefit fully from the government’s flagship policies, including the 24-hour economy initiative.

According to the MCE, the projects form part of efforts to address critical social needs in the municipality, particularly in education and water supply, to promote socio-economic development.

Residents of the beneficiary communities commended the MCE for initiating the projects, stressing that the mechanised boreholes would ease their challenges in accessing potable water, while the classroom blocks would enhance teaching and learning in the schools.

The MCE appealed to the communities to cultivate a strong maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the facilities once completed.

Opinion leaders in the beneficiary communities expressed their appreciation to the MCE for her vision and commitment to development. They pledged their full cooperation with the contractors to ensure smooth and timely execution of the projects.

They also cautioned residents, especially the youth, against stealing materials from the project sites, warning that anyone found engaging in such acts would face the full rigours of the law. Parents were further urged to advise their wards to protect the projects for the benefit of the entire community.
