Friends of Love Donate to Beads of Life Foundation
A benevolent group known as Friends of Love, based at Agric Nsima in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has donated assorted items to the Beads of Life Foundation, formerly called the Beads of Life Orphanage, at New Koforidua in the Juaben Municipality.
The items presented included four bags of rice, watermelons, assorted soft drinks, pawpaws, toiletries, detergent powders, soaps, four boxes of mackerel sardines, pineapples, second-hand clothing, cooking oil, sandals, shoes, biscuits, and other assorted items. The total estimated cost of the donation was not disclosed.
Presenting the items on behalf of the group, the spokesperson, Madam Afua Pokuaa, said the gesture was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the children and demonstrating love to the underprivileged in society. She noted that Christmas is a season of love and happiness, and the donation was their modest way of sharing joy with the children.
Madam Pokuaa expressed gratitude to the group’s patron, Mr. Anthony Baffour Awuah, for his immense support, which contributed to the success of the donation exercise. She disclosed that members of the group made individual financial contributions to procure the items.
“As a parent, I have fed my own children this Christmas, and we felt it was important to also come here to feed and clothe these children, as the Lord instructs His followers to do. There is more blessing in giving than in receiving,” she stated.
On her part, Madam Ama Tweneboah, one of the leaders of the group, thanked the management of the foundation for the love and care shown to the children in their daily upkeep. She pledged the group’s continued support for the foundation whenever the need arises and encouraged management to remain committed to the welfare of the inmates.
Another leader of the group, Madam Georgina Osei, also appealed to corporate bodies, philanthropists, and well-meaning individuals to support the foundation. She reiterated that the visit was purely to show love to the children.
“Friends of Love is a united group with one heart and a shared mission of showing love to others, and that is the main reason we are here today,” she said. She further expressed satisfaction with the condition of the children and urged management to continue demonstrating love and care.
Receiving the items on behalf of the foundation, the father of the house, Mr. Addo Collins, expressed profound gratitude to the group and prayed for God’s blessings and replenishment for them. He also called on other well-meaning members of society to emulate the generous gesture of Friends of Love.
The visit was crowned with special prayers offered by one of the inmates, who prayed for God’s guidance, protection, and financial blessings for members of the group.
