Police Nab Two Suspects Over Asokore Mampong Robbery and Murder

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery and murder incident that claimed the life of a woman at Asokore Mampong on December 6, 2025.
The victim, identified as Sylvia Ngozi, was reportedly attacked around 5:00 p.m. and died from injuries sustained during the brutal robbery.
The prime suspects, Farouk Iddrisu, 20, a motor mechanic and motorcycle rider, and Sadiq Mohammed, 19, a Pragia rider, were arrested on December 12, 2025, at their hideout in Aboabo following intelligence-led police operations.
In a related operation, the police also arrested three other suspected armed robbers—Abdul Fatau, 22; Philip Nyarko, 24; and Smack Haddy, 21—in connection with separate robbery incidents at KNUST, Kenyase, Antoa Bosore, and Maayanka.
Exhibits retrieved from the suspects include 59 iPhones, six Android phones, four tablets, five laptops, a knife, and a cutlass, believed to be linked to various robbery cases in the region.
Addressing the media, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, commended the police team for their professionalism and commitment in tracking down the suspects. He reiterated the Command’s resolve to clamp down on criminal activities to ensure the safety of residents.
