Four Arrested at Nyinahin With Weapons, Talismans in Suspected Robbery Plot

Four young men believed to be connected to ongoing armed robbery activities within the Nkawie Division have been arrested by police at Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
The suspects — Iddrisu Abubakar, 22; Fuseni Adam, 25; Yakubu Ishmeal, 18; and Hakim Abubakar, 16 — were picked up during a dawn patrol on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Police intercepted a Sprinter bus at Antwi Adjei around 3:00 a.m., and a search revealed a sack belonging to the suspects containing one locally manufactured pistol, two cartridges, two cutlasses, and multiple talismans concealed inside.
Sources indicate that investigators suspect the four may be part of a robbery network operating in several communities under the Nkawie Police Division.

The suspects are currently being detained at the Nyinahin Police Station, awaiting transfer to the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit in Kumasi for further investigation.
