Ghana Police Service Boosts Fleet With 40 Armoured Vehicles

The Ghana Police Service has received a major logistical boost following the arrival of 40 newly procured armoured vehicles to support law enforcement operations nationwide.

The vehicles were officially handed over on Thursday, December 4, at a brief ceremony attended by President John Mahama, senior government officials, and the top hierarchy of the Service.

Speaking at the event, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu said the new additions would be deployed to critical areas to enhance police visibility, improve emergency response, and strengthen overall public safety.

He praised the government for the intervention, noting that the armoured vehicles would greatly enhance the Service’s ability to combat crime, secure communities, and maintain peace and order across the country.

IGP Yohunu further assured that the vehicles would be properly maintained to ensure continuous operational readiness in support of policing efforts.
