Two Critically Injured as Cargo Vehicle Crushes Pragya Tricycle
Two people are battling for their lives after a delivery cargo vehicle with registration number GT 3029-14 ran over a pragya tricycle at Agric Nzema Junction in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The tricycle, registered M-25-AW 9741, was transporting its rider and a trader when the incident occurred. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the pragya had reached its destination and the passengers were attempting to alight when tragedy struck.
According to Kwaku Baah, who witnessed the accident, the cargo vehicle “lost its brakes and crushed the tricycle at the spot,” leaving the rider and the trader trapped and severely injured.
No police personnel had arrived at the scene during the time of reporting.
The critically injured victims were quickly rushed to the Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for urgent medical attention. Investigations are expected to be launched to determine the exact cause of the brake failure and circumstances leading to the crash.
