Sixteen Survivors Pulled From Wreckage in Nyamebekyere Highway Crash

A swift response from the Bechem Fire Station in the early hours of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, helped save sixteen passengers after a serious head-on collision on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway.

The accident, which occurred around 5:38 a.m. at Nyamebekyere, involved a Ford Transit (AS 7172-23) and a Kia Rhino (AS 3058-X). An eight-member rescue team led by STNO II Simon Yeboah arrived promptly to extricate all occupants—fourteen (14) from the Ford Transit and two (2) aboard the Kia Rhino.
