Two Found Dead, One Injured in Mpasaaso Street Attack
A violent incident in Mpasaaso, a community in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region, has left residents in shock after two men were discovered dead and another severely injured at dawn.
Residents say they woke up to find the three men lying on the roadside, with two already dead, though the circumstances that led to the attack remain unclear.
Mr. Appiah Afrifa Collins, Secretary to the Mpasaaso Palace, confirmed the incident and noted that the deceased were known in the area for engaging in violent behaviour.
“We received a call from neighbours who had spotted the bodies. When I got to the scene, there were two dead men with gunshot wounds and a third who was still alive but in critical condition,” he said.
One of the deceased, popularly called Borga, is said to have been the leader of a group linked to various disturbances in the community. Mr. Collins believes he may have been shot by unknown assailants, pointing to a gunshot wound to the head.
“He was holding a gun even in death, but he had also been butchered, with his wrists cut off,” he added.
Police have taken over the scene and begun investigations to determine what led to the gruesome attack. Residents have been urged to provide any information that may assist in the ongoing probe.
