Aputuogya Hit-And-Run Turns Tragic — Two Seriously Injured

A hit-and-run incident at Aputuogya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region has left two persons in critical condition following a dramatic chain of collisions on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Eyewitnesses told reporters that a woman driving a white Toyota saloon car allegedly knocked down an auto rickshaw driver, leaving him severely injured. Instead of stopping to offer help, she reportedly sped off in a bid to evade the scene.
“She hit the rickshaw and tried to run away,” a resident recounted.
However, in her attempt to flee, the female driver collided head-on with a Kia Pregio commercial vehicle with registration number AS 4246-22, resulting in serious injuries to herself and further chaos at the scene.
“She was driving recklessly after the first accident and ended up crashing into the commercial vehicle,” another eyewitness narrated.
Both the rickshaw operator and the woman were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where they are said to be responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, police at Aputuogya have taken over investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash and whether reckless driving or speeding was involved.
