Over 1,100 Students Matriculated At Christian Service University

A total of 1,148 students have been admitted into the Christian Service University (CSU) for the 2025/2026 academic year, with females accounting for a remarkable 79 percent of the total intake.
The fresh students were formally inducted into the University community during its 50th Matriculation Ceremony, held on campus in Kumasi.

The ceremony, which was also the second since the University attained its Presidential Charter, marked a significant milestone as it was the first to be officiated by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Stephen Banahene.
In his maiden address, Dr. Banahene welcomed the new students on behalf of the Governing Council, the Academic Board, and the University Management. He commended them for their commitment to higher education and urged them to take full advantage of the opportunities CSU offers.

“Today, we have come together to acknowledge your commitment to higher education, to recognise the dedication and hard work that has brought you this far, and to symbolise the start of a transformative phase in your lives,” he said.
Providing a breakdown of the admissions, Dr. Banahene explained that out of the 1,148 students, 8 (0.7%) were admitted into diploma programmes, 962 (83.8%) into undergraduate programmes, and 178 (15.5%) into postgraduate studies. Of these, 840 students (73%) have successfully registered, comprising 98 postgraduate students (11.67%), 738 undergraduates (87.86%), and 4 diploma students (0.48%).

Dr. Banahene congratulated the students for choosing CSU, describing it as one of Ghana’s foremost private universities with a strong reputation for academic excellence and moral integrity. He reminded them that matriculation was not only a celebration but also a formal acceptance of the University’s rules and values.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor cautioned the students against examination malpractice, warning that any student found guilty would face rustication for one academic year.

Encouraging them to stay focused and purposeful, he advised:
“Find your purpose. Be of perseverance. Be humble. Be smart with your studies, and step out of your comfort zone and explore.”
Dr. Banahene reaffirmed the University’s commitment to providing quality education and nurturing responsible graduates capable of driving national development.
“We need people who are bold and confident to move this country to the next stage of development, and we want those people to come from this cohort,” he stated.

He concluded by charging the students to uphold CSU’s core values of Excellence and Integrity, and to leave a positive mark on the University and society.
“Together, we will make your stay at this University fruitful and memorable so that you will graduate as worthy and proud ambassadors of Christian Service University,” Dr. Banahene added.
