MoFA Distributes 25,000 Bags of Fertiliser to Support School Farms Nationwide

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has released 25,000 bags of fertiliser for distribution to 413 educational institutions participating in the Feed Ghana Programme as part of efforts to boost food production during the Minor Season.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is aimed at supporting ongoing crop production and enhancing agricultural productivity across the country. The fertiliser distribution is expected to improve crop yields and strengthen the role of institutional farms, particularly those operated by primary, junior high, and senior high schools, in contributing to national food and nutrition security.

MoFA has directed the Deputy Feed Ghana Coordinator in charge of Institutional Farming to ensure the immediate distribution of the fertiliser to all beneficiary schools and institutions to facilitate timely application and maximize results.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to providing agricultural inputs and technical assistance under the Feed Ghana Programme, which serves as a key pillar of the government’s Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA).

It added that this intervention aligns with efforts to promote sustainable food production and encourage youth participation in agriculture through school-based farming initiatives.
