Electrician Dies While Fixing Earth Wire At Mpasatia
A middle-aged electrician has tragically lost his life while working on an electrical fault at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, popularly known as Kofi Electrician, reportedly fell to his death around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, while fixing an earth wire in a three-bedroom house belonging to a landlady identified as Madam Fati Adams.
According to sources, the electrician, who resided at Nkawie, had been hired by the landlady to correct an electrical problem in the house, which already had power installed.
Reports indicate that Madam Fati Adams had gone to the market to buy foodstuffs to prepare a meal for the deceased at his request. Upon her return, she found him lying lifeless on the ground.
In her attempt to touch the electrician, she reportedly suffered an electric shock and rushed outside to seek help from nearby residents.
Some residents, who spoke to journalists, said the deceased was a familiar face in the community and had previously worked on several electrical projects there.
Officers from the Toase Divisional Police Command later arrived at the scene to take the body to the Afari Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and whether there were any breaches of safety procedures during the work.
