Dr. Stephen Banahene Appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor of CSU
The Governing Council of Christian Service University (CSU) in Kumasi has appointed Dr. Stephen Banahene as Acting Vice-Chancellor, effective October 1, 2025.
Dr. Banahene, who takes over as the fourth head of the University, becomes the second Vice-Chancellor to serve under CSU’s Chartered status. He succeeds in the role with a strong track record of academic and administrative leadership, having worked with the University since 2006.
Until his elevation, Dr. Banahene was the Pro Vice-Chancellor. He has also served as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research, Dean of the School of Business, Head of the Departments of Marketing, Accounting and Finance, as well as Staff Representative on the University Council.
An alumnus of Opoku Ware School and Adanwomasi Senior High School, Dr. Banahene holds a PhD in Business Management from Universidad Empresarial De Costa Rica, an MA in Industrial Management from KNUST, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), and a BA (Hons) from the University of Ghana.
He is a Chartered Member of CIM-UK and is noted for his expertise in service quality, brand management, competitive strategies, and small business development.
The Governing Council and the CSU community have congratulated Dr. Banahene on his appointment, expressing optimism that his experience and pragmatic leadership will further advance the University’s mission.
He is married and blessed with three children.
