Mampongtenhene Sues Prophet Roja, Two Others Over Doom Prophecy

Barimah Saasi Ayeboafo II, Chief of Mamponteng in the Ashanti Region, has filed a lawsuit against the founder and leader of Roja City International Church at Atimatim, Pastor Samuel Henry alias Delighter Roja, Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), and Ali Baba Dankambary, a worker at the Angel FM following a prophecy predicting his death and the demise of other chiefs in his jurisdiction. According to a writ of summons obtained by a closed source, the chief is seeking a retraction of the prophecy, a public apology, and substantial financial compensation for the distress caused.
The writ also seeks a perpetual injunction to restrain Prophet Roja, Ali Baba Dankambary, Angel Broadcasting Network and their associates from further publishing or broadcasting defamatory statements against the chief on all media platforms. This includes restricting the defendants’ employees, agents, assigns, privies, and all other persons claiming through the 1st defendant (Angel Broadcasting Network) from making similar pronouncements.
The lawsuit stems from a live broadcast on Kumasi-based Angel FM where Prophet Roja allegedly prophesied doom for Barimah Saasi Ayeboafo II and members of the Mamponteng Palace.
The suit, facilitated by his lead counsel Yaw Acheampong Boafo of the Gye Nyame Chambers in Nhyiaeso-Kumasi, concerns a prophecy predicting his death and the demise of other chiefs within his jurisdiction.
The defendants in the case include Angel Broadcasting Network (1st defendant), Ali Baba Dankambary (2nd defendant) and Pastor Samuel Henry, aka Delighter Roja (3rd defendant)
During the broadcast, the prophet cautioned the Ayoko family within the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti King, to exercise caution in their spiritual practices, warning that their actions could have dire consequences for the Mamponteng Palace. “I am urging the Ayoko family at Manhyia Palace to be extremely careful with the steps they are taking in the spiritual realm,” Prophet Roja reportedly stated. “If they are not cautious, they risk the well-being of the entire Mamponteng Palace. It will begin with the chief linguist; they will witness the fall of a significant pillar. If care is not taken, the chief himself may be next.”
Hosted and moderated by Ali Baba Dankambary on the Angel Broadcasting Network in Kumasi, the prophet further questioned the chief’s well-being, casting doubt on his ability to rest peacefully. “Nana, I don’t know, but I must ask: are you able to sleep soundly at night, considering the visions you’re experiencing and the issues that surround you?” Prophet Roja inquired.
“I am saying this to the members of the Oyoko clan,” Prophet Roja allegedly stated during the broadcast. “I am not referring to the Occupant of the Golden Stool, please…I am referring to the Oyoko clan at the Manhyia Palace. Certain matters are happening in the spiritual realms. They should beware of how they do their things; otherwise, they will do some things wrongly, which will result in the eradication of the Mamponteng Palace and its elders.”
He continued, addressing Ali Baba Dankambary: “Ali, should I repeat it again? I mean what I just said…I will repeat it again, I am saying this to the Oyoko family at the Manhyia Palace. Ali…The matter I am speaking about is what the Lord Himself revealed to me last night. That is why I did not want to speak of it, but once you’ve asked, I will take time and say it. I say there are three Onyina trees; two have already been cut, one remains standing. The two that have been cut are known to everyone, but the one that still stands is not known to anyone.”
“Ali, within this week, before Friday, you will call me here at the station to tell me that you have seen and understood, because what I am saying is something that will happen this very week. Ali, I am not saying two weeks’ time, I am giving you the exact date and time. I say this week, this very week in which we are, before Friday, Ali, before Friday, you will hear news that at Mamponteng, the linguist (Kyeame) – a linguist of Mamponteng and his staff, or the Onyina tree planted there will fall, and should that tree fall, then the Chief of Mamponteng should pray.”
Barimah Saasi Ayeboafo II, deeply offended by these public pronouncements, has responded with legal action, demanding a retraction, an apology, and seeking the aforementioned injunction to prevent further similar statements. The chief considers the prophecy a direct threat to his life and the safety of his subordinates. He asserts that, should any harm befall him or his associates, Prophet Roja should be held accountable.
“The chief views these utterances as a grave matter. He is seeking legal recourse to ensure his safety and that of his people. We trust that the courts will address this matter fairly and decisively,” a spokesperson for the Mamponteng Palace said.
In details, the lawsuit names Angel Broadcasting Network (1st Defendant), the program host (2nd Defendant), and Prophet Roja (3rd Defendant). The chief, being the Plaintiff, prays that the court grants the following remedies General Damages of Ten Million Cedis (GHC 10,000,000.00) for defamation, an order compelling the Defendants to retract the defamatory statements and to render an unqualified apology and an order compelling the 1st Defendant to permanently erase and delete the defamatory statements from all its media platforms.
