Gabonese Referee to Handle Ghana–Comoros World Cup Qualifier in Accra

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Gabonese official Atcho Pierre Ghislain as the center referee for Ghana’s crucial final home qualifier for the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Comoros.

Ghislain, 33, will be supported on the lines by fellow Gabonese assistants Ditsoga Boris Marlaise and Ondo Ndong Urbain, while Moukagni Cregue Fleury takes charge as the fourth official.

CAF has further appointed Hailu Tesfanesh Woreta from Ethiopia as referee assessor, with Nigeria’s Mohammed Sanusi serving as match commissioner. Security responsibilities will be handled by Hoebeb Josua Andries of Namibia.

The high-stakes encounter is set for Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. GMT.

The Black Stars, who are seeking a place at the 2026 World Cup, are expected to face a stern test from Comoros, making the role of the officiating team crucial to the outcome of the match.
