Prophecy Sparks Debate: Bishop Sam Owusu Sees Kennedy Agyapong Leading NPP

Bishop Sam Owusu has reignited political debate with a bold prophecy about the future of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The preacher, widely known for his political predictions, has declared that former Assin Central legislator, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, will clinch victory in the NPP’s upcoming presidential primary.
The primary, slated for January 31, 2026, will determine who leads the governing party into the 2028 general elections. According to Bishop Owusu, Agyapong will emerge with 57.7 percent of the vote — a figure he described as “divinely revealed.”
Addressing his congregation in a viral video, the Bishop urged prayers for the outspoken politician. “Pray for him so that the mercies and hand of God will continue to bring him to that place,” he declared.
He further claimed Agyapong’s rise would mark a turning point for the NPP, attracting “one million young men” to the party. Looking ahead, Bishop Owusu envisioned an Agyapong presidency building on the legacy of a future John Mahama government, sparking an industrial revolution and making Ghana a world-class tourism destination.
Kennedy Agyapong faces stiff competition from four other high-profile contenders: former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Minister of Agriculture and Abetifi MP, Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
NPP delegates will cast their votes in a secret ballot, a decision expected to shape the party’s fortunes for years to come.
