Four Perish in Wakrom Junction Accident
A tragic road crash at Wakrom Junction near Yamoransa on the Cape Coast–Accra Highway has claimed four lives and left one person in critical condition.
The accident, which occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, involved a DAF truck and a Toyota Hiace passenger vehicle.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Rescue Team from the Central Regional Headquarters was dispatched and arrived at the scene at 2:59 p.m. According to the GNFS, rescuers quickly began extricating victims trapped in the mangled vehicles, managing to free five people.
Sadly, four of the victims were later pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while one remains in critical condition and is receiving medical treatment.
The driver and mate of the DAF truck escaped unhurt.
The accident caused heavy traffic congestion along the busy Cape Coast–Accra Highway as emergency responders worked to save lives and clear the wreckage.
Authorities have since advised motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
