DCE Pushes for Timely Completion of Mankranso Multipurpose Park

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, inspected ongoing works on a multipurpose park at Mankranso.
The project, according to the DCE, is part of a broader initiative to promote sports development and enhance youth participation in sports across the district. Mankranso becomes the first community to benefit, with similar facilities expected to be extended to other areas in the coming years.
Briefing the DCE during the visit, the contractor, Mr. Okyere, revealed that grassing work on the park would be completed within two to three weeks, while the entire project is expected to be ready for use in about three months. He commended the Assembly for providing a borehole at the site, which will ensure a reliable water supply for maintaining the greenery of the park throughout the year.
Hon. Sedik, while commending the contractor for the quality of work, urged speedy completion to allow the community to begin enjoying the facility. He further assured residents that adequate plans were in place to manage and maintain the facility effectively.
The District Feeder Roads Engineer, Mr. Charles Anku, who is supervising the project, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and pledged continued monitoring to guarantee a durable facility.
Also present was the Presiding Member of the District Assembly, Hon. Prince Oppong, who lauded the DCE’s vision to promote sports in the district. He noted that the park would not only provide a safe recreational space but also help in unearthing sporting talents among the youth.
