20-Year-Old Stabbed to Death in Kumasi
A 20-year-old man, identified as Kwadwo Bright, has been stabbed to death at Ashanti New Town in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region following a misunderstanding with a friend.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, September 4, 2025, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a plastic chair at a snooker game center.
Police sources indicate that the suspect, identified as Baker, aged 21, allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck after the initial altercation had been resolved.
The mother of the deceased, Georgina Yeboah, told reporters that she rushed to the scene upon hearing shouts about a stabbing, only to find her son in a critical state. He was immediately sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical officers.
The suspect is currently at large, and police say investigations are ongoing to apprehend him.
Residents of Ashanti New Town have expressed shock over the incident and called for calm as the matter is being investigated.
