Fire Destroys Boys Quarters at Asuoyeboa, Properties Worth Thousands Lost

A devastating fire on Monday night, August 18, 2025, razed down a three-bedroom boys quarters at Asuoyeboa in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The blaze, which started around 7:00 pm, reduced household items and personal belongings worth thousands of Ghana cedis to ashes. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.

Eyewitnesses say the inferno spread quickly, sparking panic among residents who feared the fire could engulf nearby homes. But the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented the situation from escalating.

“The fire was very intense, but the firefighters came on time and saved the other houses. We are very grateful,” a resident recounted.

Firefighters battled the flames for more than an hour before bringing it under control. The cause of the outbreak is not yet known, but GNFS officials have launched investigations to establish what triggered the incident.

Affected families have been left in shock, counting their losses and appealing for support. Municipal authorities have also assured that relief measures will be considered for victims.

The incident has once again raised concerns about fire safety in homes, with experts urging residents to adopt preventive measures such as installing fire alarms and acquiring extinguishers.
