Jealous Husband Stabs Wife Over infidelity

The Bekwai Municipality has been plunged into grief and disbelief following two unrelated tragedies that occurred within 24 hours, leaving residents reeling.
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, a domestic dispute in Edwenase, Abodom, turned violent when a 38-year-old woman, Rebecca Appiah, was allegedly stabbed in the stomach by her husband during a confrontation. According to reports, the man accused his wife of infidelity before launching the attack.
In a desperate act after the stabbing, the suspect allegedly ingested poison in an attempt to take his own life. Both individuals were rushed to the Bekwai Government Hospital, where Rebecca is receiving treatment and the husband remains in critical condition.
Less than a day later, on Monday, August 11, 2025, tragedy struck again when the lifeless body of 38-year-old farmer, Adwoa Antwi, was discovered in a bush at Behenase.
Residents said Adwoa had left for her farm on Sunday but failed to return home, prompting a search. Her body was later found with blood and foam coming from her nose. The cause of death is yet to be established, and police have begun investigations.
The twin tragedies have sent shockwaves through the Bekwai Municipality, with local leaders urging residents to remain calm and cooperate fully with security agencies.
Community members have also called for stronger support systems to combat domestic violence and enhance safety in the municipality. Authorities have assured the public of a thorough probe to bring justice to the victims and closure to their grieving families.
