State Officials Receive Bodies of Helicopter Crash Victims in Solemn Ceremony

A high-level government delegation led by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has received the remains of eight individuals who lost their lives in the tragic military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday.

The deceased were flown from the crash site to the Air Force Base in Kumasi aboard a Ghana Air Force aircraft. The somber reception ceremony was held upon their arrival and witnessed by top military brass, including senior officers and leaders of the Ghana Air Force.

Among the victims were prominent government officials: Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Muniru Mohammed, and former Member of Parliament Samuel Aboagye.

The tragedy also claimed the lives of three dedicated Air Force personnel: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The nation continues to mourn the loss of these patriotic individuals who died in service to Ghana.
