Adutwum Rallies Parents to Invest in Education as Key to Ending Poverty

Former Education Minister and current Vice Chairman of Parliament’s Education Committee, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, has called on parents to prioritize their children’s education, describing it as a crucial pathway out of poverty.
Speaking at a community event organized by the chiefs and people of Sekyere Kontonkyi in the Sekyere Kumawu District, Dr. Adutwum emphasized that education remains the most effective tool for transforming lives and breaking generational poverty.
The event was held in support of Sekyere Kusi Senior High Technical School’s infrastructure development. Dr. Adutwum pledged to use his parliamentary position to lobby for more resources and support for the school.
“As Vice Chairman of the Education Committee in Parliament, I will do everything possible to support the growth of Sekyere Kusi Senior High Technical School so it can serve the youth of this area better,” he assured.
Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, praised Dr. Adutwum for his role in facilitating the government’s absorption of the school. He urged the local community to embrace the school and help raise its standard.
The headmaster of the school, Nana Obrempong Nkrumah Agyei II, also appealed to residents to enroll their children at the school, noting that it offers strong academic and technical programs that can open doors for future opportunities.
Board Chairman of the school, Dr. Paul Appiah Konadu, joined the call for community support, urging natives of Sekyere Kontonkyi to contribute towards the school’s development.
Dr. Adutwum, who is also the MP for Bosomtwe, has been at the forefront of promoting education reforms and infrastructure development, particularly in rural communities across the Ashanti Region.
