Man Found Stabbed to Death Under Pylon
Residents of Akrofrom, a community in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, are reeling in fear and confusion following the discovery of a man’s body beneath a pylon on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
The deceased, identified only by his nickname “Stone,” was reportedly found with a stab wound beneath his left breast. According to reports, he had tied the area with a sponge—possibly in an attempt to stop the bleeding—before succumbing to his injuries.
Speaking in a phone interview, the Assembly Member for Apagya Electoral Area, Hon. Tony Nyantakyi, said he was alerted to the incident around 11:30 a.m. by a unit committee member who resides in the community.
“The cause of death is not yet clear, but we saw a wound under his left breast where a sponge had been tied,” Hon. Nyantakyi said.
Police have since arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the man’s death.
The incident has sparked widespread fear among residents, many of whom are demanding swift action from law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.
“This has really disturbed the whole community. We need answers and we need them fast,” a concerned resident told this reporter.
Police are yet to issue an official statement, but sources say investigations are ongoing.
