Manhyia Palace Hosts Introduction of New Ashanti Lands Commission Leadership

A newly appointed leadership team for the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission was officially introduced to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday, July 2, 2025.
Leading the delegation was the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, who formally presented Baffour Owusu Bediako, the Chief of Domeabra, as the newly appointed Chairman of the reconstituted Ashanti Regional Lands Commission. Also introduced was Daasebre Kofi Asante Mensah, Chief of Sabronum, who will serve as the representative of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on the Commission’s Board.
The Asantehene, in welcoming the appointments, expressed hope that the new leadership would uphold fairness and accountability in land governance. He called for closer collaboration between the Lands Commission, traditional leaders, and government institutions to address the growing challenges of land management in the region.
Other members of the delegation included the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, the Executive Secretary of the Regional Lands Commission, Prof. Owusu Ansah, and the Ashanti Regional Lands Officer, Mr. Peter Osei Owusu.
The reconstitution of the Lands Commission is part of a broader effort to streamline land administration, resolve disputes, and promote sustainable development in the Ashanti Region. The new leadership is expected to bring renewed focus to land documentation, ownership clarity, and stakeholder engagement.
