Muslims Community in Ashanti condole Roman Catholic Bishop in Ashanti over the loss of Pope Francis
The Ashanti regional chief imam has led a powerful delegation of top Muslim clerics to condole with the Roman Catholic Arch Bishop EMERITUS Akwasi Sarpong , Reverend Father Felix Baffour Gyau and the catholic community in the Ashanti over the demise of Pope Francis the head of Catholics in the world.
In the spirit of interfaith har
mony, the Muslim clerics eulogised the late Pope Francis for his selfless and dedicated long service to the poor and vulnerable irrespective of status in life.
The delegation comprises the secretary of council of Ulamau and Imams I Ashanti region Dr Ahmed Saeed, the Chairman of zqngo peace and reconciliation committee Sheikh Mohammed Ridwan, the Ashanti regional Imam of Shia sect, Darulhikima Surju Dara and the Imam of Gonja community in Ashanti region among others.
The regional chief imam sheikh Abdulrahman Zakariya prayed for the entire Catholic community globally for this great loss and wish them well in their bid to select the next Pope and leader who will build on the success of the late Pope.
Dr Ahmed Saeed read a brief condolence message on behalf of the delegation and before taking turns to sign the book of condolence at the St.Peters Basilica in Kumasi.
