Suspected Armed Robber Lynched in Kumasi CBD

A suspected armed robber has been lynched by an angry mob in the Central Business District of Adum in Kumasi for allegedly attacking his victim with a knife in an attempt to rob off his mobile phone.
The incident happened on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, around 5:00 am.

According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred when the suspect, along with two accomplices, attempted to rob a mobile phone from a young man who had alighted from a vehicle.

The deceased robber and his accomplices ambushed the victim, attacked him with a knife, and forcibly took his phone. The victim shouted on top of his voice, attracting some traders to his rescue,” said a head Potter who was at the scene.

However, two of the robbers managed to bolt away with the phone, leaving the deceased at the mercy of the angry mob.

When the Police from the Railway Police Station arrived at the scene, the angry mob had already lynched.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been picked up by the police and deposited at a morgue for possible identification and collection.
