There will be special security arrangements for Kotoko henceforth- Kofi Adams

Sports and Recreation Minister- designate, Kofi Adams, has pledged for special security arrangements for Asante Kotoko, due to the Sunday’s fatal stabbing incident that resulted in the death of a supporter of Asante Kotoko.

According to the Minister-Designate, history of violence against Asante Kotoko in the the Bono regions are too many and stringent measures are needed to be taken.

Francis Frimpong, alias Nana Pooley was heinously stabbed to death, by some supporters of Nsoatreman FC during the matchday 19 clash.

“I have observed over the years that anytime Kotoko is playing a match in that enclave, there seems to be some unpleasant situations,” Hon. Kofi Adams said.

“Sometimes not just on the pitch, but after the game, and even at times, on their way back, they encounter such incidents which go unpunished,” he continued.

“What it means also is that, some special arrangement will have to be made for Kotoko anytime they have to have that match in that area.”

He also assured that security protocols will be enhanced before the next Ghana Premier League matchdays.

“We are not going to have the same thing as in the past. We will improve security at the match venues,” he said.
