GFA takes immediate action against Nsoatreman FC, bans them from playing at home

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken an immediate action by banning Nsoatreman FC from playing their home matches at their favourite ground, Nana Konamansah Park over the incident that resulted in a supporter of Asante Kotoko losing his life during the week 19 match between them.
With immediate effect, the Executive Committee of the GFA has, has invoked Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations, by banning the use of the Nsoatreman FC home venue until further notice to ensure the safety of all stakeholders while investigations begin.
The Football governing body of Ghana, has also strongly condemned the acts of violence and lawlessness that occured during the Ghana Premier League match between the two teams on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Meanhile, the GFA has extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for a swift recovery to those injured.
“The GFA has tasked the Security Committee led by DCOP Lydia Donkor and the FA Prosecutors, to immediately move to site and gather all necessary evidence, including match reports and relevant documentation, to present to the FA’s Disciplinary Committee for adjudication of all sporting matters,” a release on the page of the GFA reads.
Furthermore, the GFA has officially called on the Ghana Police Service to swiftly conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and bring all offenders to book.
The GFA wants the law enforcement agencies to deploy all necessary tools to ensure that those responsible for these crimes are identified, apprehended to face the full rigours of the law.
“The GFA reminds all clubs, players, officials, and supporters that there is zero tolerance for acts of violence, intimidation, and hooliganism in Ghana football. The FA will not hesitate to impose severe sanctions on any club, official, or supporter found culpable of engaging in or inciting such behaviour,” the statement added.
The GFA also assured Ghanaians that further updates on the incident, including findings and decisions from the GFA Disciplinary Committee and law enforcement investigations, will be communicated at the appropriate time.
