Nora Häuptle unveiled as new Copper Queens head coach

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has officially unveiled Nora Häuptle as the national team coach of the Copper Queens.

Nora, former coach of the Ghana’s Black Queens for the past two years, refused to renew her contract some months ago.

The Swiss has signed a three-year deal with FAZ, taking over from Bruce Mwape who was the stop- gap coach of the Copper Queens.

At the event, which was held on Friday at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel, the Swiss trainer pledged of qualifying the Copper Queens for the big tournaments.

She’s now tasked to lead Zambia to fight for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to be staged in Morocco from July 5 to 26.

Her immediate task will be to prepare her side for the tournament through a series of friendly matches.

Coincidentally, the Black Queens were knocked out in the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games in a two-legged affair by the Zambia where Nora was the head coach of the Black Queens.
