Chief Foots Bills of Patients at Nkawie/Toase Gov’t Hospital

THE Nkosuohene of Nkawie-Kuma in the Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Nana Asare Bediatuo I, has paid for the hospital bills of about twenty-four (24) patients who could not afford their bills after been treated and discharged.
The traditional ruler in another development, partnered Ambitious Ladies to supported about twenty-four (24) youth in apprenticeship that were into seamstress and hairdressing with start-up kits and undisclosed amount of money.
Speaking at the event, Nana Bediatuo II disclosed that the initiative was geared towards supporting the needy and less privileged in the Nkawie, Toase and surrounding communities to give them some sigh of relief to makes earns meet.
He pledged that, the initiative would continue when there is the need to ensure that he contribute his quota in complementing government’s efforts to reduce unemployment especially among the youth in the area.
The chief disclosed that he was touched by the plight of the patients in the hospital who were been discharged but could not go back home to their families due to their inability to afford their bills.
He assured the hospital authorities to visit the facility appropriately to foot the bills of mothers who gave birth but cannot go home because they could not afford their bills.
Mr Ben Kwabena Sintim, the Administrator at the facility, on behalf of Dr Roberto Frank Fiifi, the Medical Superintendent, expressed their profound gratitude to Nana Bediatuo for the kind gesture done to the beneficiaries.
According to him, most of the patients often abscond with their bills when feel they could not afford to pay, making it difficult for the authorities at the facility account to the auditors.
