President John Mahama Commends Akufo-Addo’s Government

PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama has commended former President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration for its contributions to the country’s growth, especially its efforts in economic growth, infrastructural development, and enhancing Ghana’s international relations.

In his inaugural speech on Monday, January 7, 2025, John Mahama also emphasised the importance of fostering unity among Ghanaians especially in the light of political divisions in the just ended general elections.

President Mahama also expressed gratitude to the citizens for reposing their trust in his leadership, promising to usher in a new era of progress, unity, and prosperity.

He pledged not to be a president for the NDC alone but a president for all regardless of ones political affiliation.

The newly sworn-in President also urged Ghanaians to come together for the collective good of the nation.

He admitted that even though the past Nana Addo government made progress in several key areas, his government would continue on these achievements, addressing the challenges faced by the country.

“The Akufo-Addo government has made commendable efforts in several areas. Yet, the onus lies on the NDC government led by me to do better, to improve the lives of Ghanaians across the country,” he stated, emphasizing that. the citizenry deserve nothing less than our utmost commitment to economic stability, social justice, and good governance.”

The newly sworn-in President also pledged that his administration would prioritize job creation, poverty reduction, and the development of key sectors like education, road infrastructure, healthcare, and agriculture.

“We will work to ensure that all and sundry of this great nation gets access to opportunities that allow them to thrive. Now is the time to bury our differences and come together as one people with one goal—to build a better Ghana for ourselves and the future generation,” he remarked.
