Bibiani SHTS Management Procure 200 Mono Desks Ahead For The School

THE Management of Bibiani Senior High Technical School (BSHTS) in the Westen North Region of Ghana has provided 200 mono desks for the school ahead of the reopening of schools on January 3, 2025.

The acquiring of these desks will add to the current inventory of furniture in the school to facilitate teaching and learning.

The project, estimated at a cost of Ghc40,000.00) through Internally Generated Funds (IGF) aims to handle the massive influx of fresh students in the various classrooms. It is also expected to enhance teaching and learning by ensuring the well-being and safety of students.

The headmaster of the school, Mr. George Baidooh, appealed to the government, particularly GETFund, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), philanthropists, and old students of school to assist the institution with furniture to enhance teaching and learning.

“A conducive classroom environment is a necessary condition for academic excellence. For years the school, known for its discipline and academic excellence, has been battling with inadequate furniture to enhance the teaching and learning of its students,” Mr. Baidooh stressed.

He indicated that the implementation of the free SHS has resulted in students from various parts of the country applying to the school and leaving the school authorities with no choice but to admit them. This he noted, has overwhelmed the existing infrastructure and furniture resulting in severe congestion”. The headmaster indicated.

He added that the acquisition of the 200 desks is woefully inadequate and appealed for about 500 desks to make up for the deficit in furniture.

He noted that the shortage of furniture worsens the challenges faced in facilitating smooth teaching and learning processes, calling for support in addressing the challenges confronting the school.

“With approximately 2,500 student population, and 950 first-year students, urgent intervention is needed in students and teachers’ accommodations on campus to instill discipline,” he stressed.

The Management called on all well-wishers to come quickly to the aid of the school to enable them serve residents in the Municipality and the entire Western North effectively.
