Public Holidays in Ghana for 2025 Released

THE Ministry of the Interior has officially the list of all statutory public holidays and commemorative days for the Republic of Ghana in 2025.

The release of these public holidays would allow Ghanaians plan their schedules and activities throughout the year.

The Statutory Public Holidays are as follows:

1. New Year’s Day: Wednesday, January 1st
2. Constitution Day: Tuesday, 7th January
3. Independence Day: Thursday, 6th March
4. Eid-ul-Fitr: *** (Date to be announced by the Office of the Chief Imam)
5. Eid-ul-Adha: *** (Date to be announced by the Office of the Chief Imam)
6. Good Friday: Friday, 18th April
7. Easter Monday: Monday, 21st April
8. May Day (Workers’ Day): Thursday, 1st May
9. Founders’ Day: Monday, 4th August
10. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day: Sunday, 21st September
11. Farmers’ Day: Friday, 5th December
12. Christmas Day: Thursday, 25th December
13. Boxing Day: Friday, 26th December
14. Commemorative Days (Not observed as public holidays):
15. African Union Day: Sunday, 25th May
16. Republic Day: Tuesday, 1st July
The citizenry are to note that dates for Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha are not fixed because they are movable feasts. The Office of the Chief Imam will announce the official dates in the course of time..
